Hair and Beauty, the top event for trends, styles, training and career, attracts the entire hairdressing sector to Frankfurt

Special offers for the Young Generation, Talents, Professionals and Make-up-Artists & Nail Designers

Ready for the mega event with the OMC Hairworld World Cup in 2014

Hair, champions, make-up and nails are the subjects around which the next edition of Hair and Beauty will revolve when it opens its doors in Hall 11 of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre on 9 and 10 June 2013. “We have developed the concept of the fair to make it even more effective for our four target groups – Young Generation, Talents, Professionals and Make-up-Artists & Nail Designers”, explains Christiane Walter, Director of Hair and Beauty, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. With the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (Zentralverband des Deutschen Friseurhandwerks - ZV) as a strong partner and the German Hairdressing Championships, Hair and Beauty 2013 will be the ‘Home of the Hairdresser’ and focus on basic and advanced training for the entire sector. A year later, it will be toppehbd by the world hairdressing championships when the highly popular OMC Hairworld World Cup is held concurrently with Hair and Beauty.

The new dates in the spring and the move into the new Hall 11 at the last event were welcomed by all participants. “On the basis of our experience and the echo from our exhibitors and visitors, we aim to ensure even shorter walking distances and a more extensive congress programme in the ‘Portalhaus’ building”, says Christiane Walter. Hall 11.0 will provide the setting for the complete spectrum of trends, new products and highlights offered by the exhibitors, the German hairdressing championships and top workshops and shows on the Creative Stage. Using the whole of this exhibition hall means the German hairdressing championships can be positioned in the heart of the event, which will also promote the exchange of information and ideas between the individual groups of visitors and the exhibitors – especially between young hairdressers and the haircosmetic industry, which is increasing its efforts to help young people.

The Hair & Beauty Congress will be held in the adjoining ‘Portalhaus’ building, which offers the necessary space and tranquillity for concentrated business discussions and a first-class programme of lectures.

Target-group oriented complementary programme
The segments covered by Hair and Beauty are: Hair & Extensions, Salon & Tools, Make-up & Nails, Accessories & Fashion, Hairdressing Wholesale & Private Label, Education & Career and Institutions & Services. Within these segments, the four target groups – from trainees and young talents to professionals in the hairdressing and beauty trades – will find a variety of special events:

The Young Generation should head for the Education & Career segment, the meeting place for school students and trainees with an integrated Workshop Zone where educational institutes present their courses. In this connection, the Education & Career Meeting place is the place to go for all visitors with questions about their personal development in the future.

Of particular interest to Talents (young hairdressers, qualified hairdressers and business start-us) and Professionals (master hairdressers, salon proprietors and managers) are the exhibitor areas around the Hair & Extensions and Salon & Tools segments. Additionally, the Hair & Beauty Congress offers high-grade lectures and seminars on the most relevant business topics, such as marketing, expanding the range of salon services, basic and advanced training, staff coaching, law and business start-ups.

Creative Stage, the big workshop venue, will be an exclusive source of inspiration for everyone looking for new styles and ideas they can use in the salon. On the stage, the sector’s big stars will provide further inspiration in discussions covering their expertise, the latest styling trends and techniques.

The winners of the German Hairdressing and Beautician Championships organised by the ZV will be chosen on the Competition Stage. This great specialist highlight also constitutes the heart of the fair.

Proprietors and staff of salons offering beauty services will find the latest trend products at Make-up & Nails, which is also the perfect networking area for beauticians and nail designers wanting to boost their turnover via a partnership with hairdressers.

And visitors wanting to place orders will find a broad selection of products at Hairdressing Wholesale and Accessories & Fashion.

International mega event 2014: Hairworld + Hair and Beauty

OMC, Organisation Mondiale Coiffure, and Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (ZV) will hold the Hairworld World Cup in Frankfurt from 3 to 5 May 2014 and transform the ‘Festhalle’, the ‘Forum’ and Hall 3 of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre into the arena of the international hairdressing elite. The ‘Festhalle’ will be the setting for presentations by champions and the venue for the championships.

The OMC World Delegates Congress will take place in the ‘Forum’, which will also be an ‘Olympic Village’, where participants can make their preparations, and a refuge for the Competition Committee. In 2014, the modern Hall 3 will be the home of Hair and Beauty with the top brands of the hair-cosmetic industry. “2014 will be the international hairdressing highlight. The worldwide hairdressing sector is looking towards Frankfurt. But first, we are looking forward to a fascinating trade fair in 2013”, says Andreas Popp, President of the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (ZV).
